Prime Video Renews Neagley for Second Season After Strong Debut

Amazon has renewed Neagley for a second season on Prime Video, with Maria Sten reprising the title role in the Reacher spin-off.

The show debuted on September 16, the same day the fourth season of Reacher ended. Amazon says Neagley attracted 40 million viewers during its first 13 days on the platform and ranks as the fourth most-watched original series debut in Prime Video history, with 52 percent of its audience outside the United States.

Maria Sten plays Frances Neagley, a former Army officer who worked with Jack Reacher and is now a private investigator. In the first season, she investigates the suspicious death of someone from her past.

Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman also star in the series. Alan Ritchson, who stars as Jack Reacher, appears as a guest in the spin-off.

Based on the character created by Lee Child for his Jack Reacher novels, Neagley is written by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, who are also co-showrunners and executive producers. Child is an executive producer as well, alongside Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs, and Lisa Kussner.

The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios.

The renewal comes shortly after Amazon extended Reacher for a sixth season. The fifth season is currently in production.
